MARILYN MINTER PROJECTS

Over the past decade, Toddy has worked regularly with the iconic artist Marilyn Minter on a number of her projects, working with her as (alternately) editor, cinematographer, FX supervisor, colorist and sound designer. From the Whitney Gala of 2011 to her iconic 2014 video piece SMASH, and in more than a few projects in between (including pieces for the New York Times and Planned Parenthood.)

In April 2023, Marilyn opens a new show at LGDR featuring Toddy’s cinematographic and editorial collaboration with Marilyn embedding the video piece into real-life sculptured in the form of working water fountains, the image projected up into the drinker’s face, a rather squishy, intimate visceral experience. The piece also adorned the gallery’s video monitor in the elevator, the sound design filling the small space, providing a different, sonic experience of the work.

In her most ambitious show to date, the 74-year-old artist is continuing to push the envelope with a new body of work. - New York Times

Toddy’s work as part of Marilyn’s team is now part of the permanent collection at the Tate Modern, and has been shown at the Brooklyn Museum, the Contemporary Art Museums of St. Louis & Orange County, Contemporary Arts Centers of Houston & Denver, the Barclays Center Oculus and Santiago Calatrava's Oculus at the World Trade Center, among many others.
